Power Pink

Inspiration

Posted on

In the fashion cities the fashionista’s are bright and beautiful in pink. You really don’t have to be afraid to stand out in the crowd, because everything is possible in the name of power pink. If you don’t feel like a whole lot of pink than simply combine a black outfit with a touch of pink during this cold weather.

Dear teddy

We've never seen this much fur on the catwalk. The spring/summer shows were awash with fur, and luckily also with fake fur. Today’s lookalikes are so close to the real thing, we can hardly see the difference anymore. That’s why I like this winter’s teddy-coat so much: it’s look and feel are comfortable, cosy and huggable – the teddy bear is our children's favourite for a good reason. As a matter of fact, I think it’s quite odd that it took so long before the teddy trend, with all it’s iconic features, conquered the catwalk. With it’s feel-good vibe it keeps you warm, and moreover it is super affordable. My advice: go for the teddy, just like me.

Birkies Deluxe

The double-strapped sandal is back for this summer and we are loving it! Designers like Céline, Valentino and Marni created their own interpretation of the well-known Birkenstock sandals. Vogue Paris spotted this trend quite early in their Februari 2013 issue.

Often when we hear the brand Birkenstock we think about comfort sandals for some free spirited tree huggers, but when we saw the model Andreea Diaconu riding her bike in NYC last spring, we realized the two-strap sandal has gone from granola to glam.

A new bag in town

Our new favorite it-bag is the “W” bag from Louis Vuitton. It already stole many hearts of celebrities like Jessica Alba, she really rocked the streets in her flared jeans and casual top with a traditional two-toned brown version of this bag. But now it is our turn to put this beautiful bag on our Christmas list.

The bag comes in two different sizes: PM (small) and GM (big). We are amazed by the GM canary-yellow version. With the classic LV shape, Louis Vuitton gives a twist to their well known monogram. We think this bag has definitely  the wow factor.

Curious? Rush to marieclaire.nl to check out this bag. And do you  want to know where the name ‘’W’’ comes from and which other celebrities are rocking the streets with our favorite canary-yellow it-bag?

Puppy love

Knitted animal jumpers are hot. Not just hot as in warm, but hot as in cool. In 2012 Kenzo set the animal trend by unleashing a pretty wild roaring tiger that sold out in two days. This Fall/Winter also fluffy animal jumpers have catwalk-star pedigree.

I instantly fell in love with this knitted puppy jumper from Swash. It’s soft, it’s cute and it totally brings out the little girl in me. I was ready to adopt this one from its animal shelter, so I asked the nice sales lady ‘How much is that doggy in the window?’

Even with a 40 percent discount, it was a lot of money for me (300 euro’s aka 402 dollar). With pain in my heart and a small howl I left the dog at the shop.
